Methodology and sources
The figures are aggregates over Risika's unified Nordic company index, built on the official register for Sweden (Bolagsverket / SCB). See data sources & methodology for the full source chain.
The barometer refreshes monthly. 'Ceased or in distress' is a snapshot of companies that are no longer active — spanning ordinary cessations (voluntary liquidation, mergers, etc.) as well as genuine distress statuses (bankruptcy, forced dissolution). It is not the number of new bankruptcies in the period; see the register-status table for the split.
Journalists and analysts are free to cite these figures with attribution to Riskpilot/Risika.
- We only show what the register holds — where a figure is missing it is omitted, never estimated.
- Companies with an unknown or dormant status count toward the total but neither as active nor as ceased/distressed.
- Industry splits use each company's registered NACE code; companies without a code are not in the industry table.
